USDA to present $3 million loan to Maquoketa Valley REC

The United States Department of Agriculture will present a $3 million guaranteed loan to Maquoketa Valley Rural Electric Cooperative on Tuesday.

The funds will help the cooperative serve 326 new members, build 34 miles of new distribution line, and make improvements to 55 miles of distribution line.

Maquoketa Valley REC serves members in Buchanan, Cedar, Clayton, Clinton, Delaware, Dubuque, Jackson, Jones and Linn Counties. USDA Rural Development State Director Bill Menner will present the loan at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the cooperative’s office in Anamosa.
