Inc. magazine has ranked RuffaloCODY on its annual list of the fastest-growing private companies in the United States for the sixth time.
The 2011 ranking marks the fifth straight year of recognition as a top 5,000 company. RuffaloCODY was first recognized in 1996 as a top 500 company with a ranking of 26.
The Cedar Rapids-based company grew by 40% over the last three years and is ranked number 3,746 out of the top 5,000 on the 2011 list. Inc. also ranked RuffaloCODY as the 345th fastest growing company in the USA for its industry category.
To qualify for this year’s Inc. 5000 list, companies had to be U.S.-based and privately held, for profit, and independent having generated revenue by March 31, 2007. Nominee companies also had to have shown at least $100,000 in revenue in 2007, and at least $2 million in 2010.
“It is an honor to see RuffaloCODY listed among the nation’s fastest growing companies for the fifth straight year – especially during one of the weakest economies in memory. Our employees continue to provide the best possible products and services to our clients and as a result, the company is celebrating its 20th year of operations,” said RuffaloCODY CEO Al Ruffalo.
“During the coming years, I am certain the company will experience continued growth and many more successes on behalf of our clients.”
In prior years, RuffaloCODY was listed 26th in the Inc. 500; 3,552 in 2007 (the first year that 5,000 companies were recognized); 4,170 in 2008; 2,926 in 2009; and 3,493 in 2010. Complete results of the Inc. 5000, including company profiles and an interactive database that can be sorted by industry, region, and other criteria, can be found on www.inc.com/5000.
Methodology
The 2011 Inc. 500|5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth from 2007 through 2010. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2007.
Additionally, they had to be based in the United States, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2010. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.)
The minimum revenue required for 2007 is $100,000; the minimum for 2010 is $2 million. Revenue figures given in the company profiles are for calendar years, as are employee counts. Full-time and part-time employees are included in the employee counts; independent contractors are not.
