Real-life role-play, or RORP, is a game mode that allows players to live out their favourite games. Released last year, Real-life Role-play v2.0, or RDR2, is the sequel to the hit game mode and brings many exciting new features. Not only can you play as your favourite character, but now you can make new friendships and connections in exciting ways that will keep you playing for hours on end.
The History of RDR2
RDR2 is available for Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, and playStation 4 and is the first game of its kind to fully embrace the power of the Internet. Not only can players connect with other gamers through dedicated chat rooms and clans, but they can also become invested in the stories and adventures of fictional characters. If you’re looking for an immersive, story-driven online experience, then look no further.
The original game mode launched in early 2018 and was inspired by popular games such as World of Warcraft and EverQuest II. A team of developers set out to reimagine the way players could interact in a virtual world and bring back the fun of making new friends while playing a game. After over a year of hard work and several updates, Real-life Role-play v2.0 was finally released and took the community by storm. With over 300,000 copies sold globally, it’s clear that the team at Ninja Division have created something special.
All The New Features In RDR2
RDR2 has a lot to offer fans of the original game with many exciting new features. Perhaps the most notable addition is the inclusion of a skill system that allows players to develop their characters’ unique skills and attributes. For example, a wizard may specialize in casting powerful spells while a biker may focus on raw power. As you level up, your character will gradually learn new spells, discover hidden areas, and gain access to powerful gear.
Another significant change is the addition of a job system that allows you to pursue specializations in different industries. So rather than being restricted to a single career path like a doctor or a lawyer, you can now become an expert in fields such as finance, science, or technology. Your character will learn new skills as they progress, developing a wide array of unique abilities that will allow them to tackle any situation. This essentially gives you the freedom to become what you want to be while enjoying a fun, rewarding gameplay experience.
One of the most significant changes in RDR2 is the way players can form their own in-game communities. When you log in, you’ll see the vibrant, bustling forums where players can discuss the latest news, share their opinions, and establish new relationships with other gamers. If you’re looking for an immersive role-playing experience that also offers players the feeling of being a part of something special, then RDR2 is the game for you.
RDR2 also features dedicated clans that players can join, creating instant social connections as they fight alongside friends in co-operative gameplay. There are many clans out there offering distinct team colors, special uniforms, and awesome battle chants. If you’re looking for a way to form your own community of likeminded gamers, then consider joining a clan today!
Getting Started In RDR2
If you’re new to the series, then you may want to start with the original game, Real-life Role-play, to get used to the controls and familiarize yourself with the different classes and specializations. Fortunately, the developers have made this easy for you with an auto-download feature that will install the game onto your device. So all you need to do is click the download button, and in a few short minutes, you’ll be playing the game.
You’ll notice that as soon as you start playing, your screen will go blank. This is because the developers have enabled the game’s autosave feature which will save your progress at regular intervals. So if you happen to turn off your device or lose Internet connection, then you’ll lose everything. This could be a pain if you’re playing a major storyline or are far into the game. To avoid this, make sure you always have Internet connection when playing or you can opt to have the autosave feature disabled (which is what most people do).
Gameplay In RDR2
We already mentioned how important a skill system is to the game. In Real-life Role-play, every character starts with only a few skills and must learn more as they go along. This is still true in RDR2, but the development team has expanded on the concept by adding several new systems that allow players to develop their characters’ skills and attributes. When you reach a certain level in the game, you’ll unlock the ability to specialize in a specific area and become an expert in that field. It’s not only about learning new spells and gathering experience points, but now you can also invest in improving your character’s vital stats such as strength, dexterity, and agility.
It’s important to remember that these skills can only be improved through practice and you must spend significant amounts of time training your character. You’ll also learn special attacks that can be used in battle, as well as the ability to create and utilize familiars, or spirit animals. Familiars are animals that can be summoned by thinking about specific topics or persons. The more you play, the more you’ll discover about your character’s strengths and weaknesses, as well as the areas in which they lack experience. This is something that will constantly change as your character develops throughout the game.
Combat is also an essential part of any role-playing game and is one of the biggest changes in RDR2. While the original game mode focused more on exploration and gathering resources, the developers wanted to give players an engaging, exciting battle system that would make real life seem like a battle of wits. This was mainly motivated by the fact that a large portion of the playerbase has grown up playing online, so they wanted to give players what they know and love.
The combat is turn-based and uses a unique resource called Glory which is gained through combat and is used to purchase items, hire mercenaries, and improve your character’s attributes. Every time your character takes damage in battle, they’ll lose a small amount of Glory, which means it’s essential to protect yourself and your allies at all times. Glory can be restored by taking a short break from combat or dying.
Exploration and gathering resources is still an important part of the game, but the combat-oriented gameplay makes it feel more like a real-life RPG rather than a virtual one.
Puzzles And Hidden Areas In RDR2
One of the unique things about Real-life Role-play is that it encourages players to explore the world and learn about the game’s lore. One of the most significant new features in RDR2 is the inclusion of a puzzle system that will gradually introduce you to new gameplay elements and keep you guessing until the end. The puzzles will become more and more difficult as you progress through the game, but solving them will also give you an insight into the mysteries of the universe.
Many of the puzzles in RDR2 are hidden areas that can only be accessed through certain means. For example, to gain access to the Ancient Ruins, you’ll need to solve a series of puzzles scattered around the island. Solving these puzzles will not only give you the knowledge you need to progress, but you’ll also discover artifacts and equipment that are essential to preserving the earth’s atmosphere and preventing it from turning into a desolate, ruined wasteland.
The End Of The Game
At the end of the game, you’ll be able to review your character’s development and decide what kind of person you want them to be. You have the choice of 19 distinct endings based on how you interact with other characters. In most role-playing games, the ending is predetermined and can sometimes even be frustrating if you’re wanting a certain result. The freedom to create your own ending in RDR2 is an incredible option that allows you to have a truly unique gaming experience.
Real-life Role-play is a fan-favorite because it provides a different kind of experience. While the gameplay is similar to that of other role-playing games, the setting and atmosphere make it feel more like a novel experience. The developers have done a phenomenal job of expanding on the original concept and offering an experience that is both nostalgic and exciting.
