I will share with you my life as Eva, how I became a virtual assistant, and how I am making money online
How to Make Money Online
If you’re reading this, I assume you’re looking for ways to make extra money and expand your income streams. It doesn’t have to be temporary, you’re reading the right blog. I will teach you how to make money online and how to make it sustainably.
I have been researching online earning opportunities ever since I graduated from college in May 2018. I had a very clear direction in mind when I was searching for jobs: I wanted to work remotely for a company that provides some of the top-notch support that I had experienced while growing up in Singapore.
As a kid, I was always the kid in the neighborhood who had an idea for a business. I started my first online store when I was 14 years old and managed to build it up to 100 items in its inventory. It was a t-shirt shop and I would put the shirts on my body and list them for sale. Even then, I knew that this was something that I could do well and make money from. I also started a blog around that time and made money off that when I was 15 years old. I never turned down an opportunity to make money online (even if it was just pennies) and always saw it as a stepping stone to further growth.
So after I graduated from college, I began searching for online gigs that I could do remotely. There were a few online gigs that I came across as possibilities and I began applying for them. I got a lot of rejection letters but it didn’t discourage me from continuing to look for work opportunities online. I finally found what I was looking for when I came across a listing for an administrative assistant who would be helping a business owner manage his office. I got the job and started working for this company a few months later.
This was somewhere between my junior and senior year of college so I wasn’t able to work full-time but I did enough to cover my expenses and put a little bit of money in my pocket. Even when I was looking for ways to make extra cash, I didn’t want to leave the platform that I was on because I had already started to make some money from this job. So I continued to look for similar jobs and a few months later, I found one that interested me. It was an online gig where you’d be getting paid to take surveys and watch videos.
I didn’t have any experience in online marketing or getting traffic so I did a lot of research on how to make money online and what strategies to use. As I began making money from this job, I also kept looking for other opportunities to make money online.
During my junior year of college, I had decided that I wanted to work in an office full-time after I graduated. To prepare for this job, I did a lot of research into what it would be like to work remotely for an office. I found a few gig platforms that helped me visualize what my day would look like and gave me an idea of what to expect. After I applied for a job, I got a lot of requests to take a survey which would help the company know more about me. At first, I thought that this was just another ploy by this company to get more information about me but after I took the survey, I found out that they were actually being transparent about what they were looking for in a hire and how the position would work. I appreciated that they were being open about this and even though the pay wasn’t great, I saw this as a learning experience.
What is a Virtual Assistant?
A virtual assistant is someone who provides administrative support to a business or individual. Their role is typically to take care of tasks such as scheduling meetings, booking travel arrangements, and providing general support related to the business. They may also be expected to find relevant information when asked by the business owner or manager.
Since the gig is largely remote, a virtual assistant doesn’t need to be tied to one location. Which means that they can work from home, even if it’s just a couple of hours a day. Most virtual assistants provide some form of support virtually every day through text messages, emails, or online chats.
Being a virtual assistant is a great way to make money online because it allows you to work remotely for a company or individual. If you want to learn more, here are a few places you can begin your research:

You will also be able to develop your own projects and initiatives which can boost your professional growth. The downside is that you will have to deal with deadlines, stress, and a lot of people micromanaging your work. If you decide to go the route of working for an agency, make sure to weigh the pros and cons of this form of employment.
