Make Money Online — A Newb Focused Guide, 2017 Edition

As the title suggests, this edition of my ‘Make Money Online’ guide is focused on newbies who are just getting started. You won’t find any of the more advanced techniques discussed in previous guides in this edition. That being said, you will learn a lot simply by following the steps in this guide, so be sure to read the entire section on building a strong foundation before you begin your journey.

The Basics

Before we begin, let’s discuss the very basics. Make Money Online is a broad term that covers a lot of different things, so if you’re looking for specific opportunities, be sure to target your search according to what you’re looking for. For example, if you’re looking for affiliate marketing, head over to the Amazon Associates platform and get training. Alternatively, if you’re looking for Digital Marketing opportunities, make sure you’re searching the correct platforms (like Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook). Finally, if you’re looking for scalable businesses, be sure to check out the CPA (Cost Per Acquisition) platforms, like Accuvest and ClickBank

Once you’ve determined the basics, it’s time to move on to the next step.

Step One: Find A Niche

For the purpose of this guide, we’ll assume you are looking for an easy way to make money online. If this is not the case, you can still apply the same general principles, but you will need to diversify your search or specialize in a niche. Finding a niche is both a sales and marketing skill. When a newbie enters the market, they often lack focus and skills, which is why I recommend taking the time to specialize in a niche before you begin promoting products.

In the get-rich-quick world of Internet marketing, niching is often neglected as a step in the make-money-online process. However, niching is a critical step in the sustainable fortunes of online marketing. If you’re new to making money online, specializing in a niche can be an excellent way to start your journey.

Step Two: Attracting Potential Customers To Your Site

Your niche will determine the type of content you will publish on your site. When choosing content, be sure to focus on appealing to an audience that fits within your niche. For example, if you’re specializing in Affiliate Marketing, make sure to publish blog posts that will interest and attract Affiliate Marketing affiants. If you want to be a successful vlogger, make sure to focus on creating video blog posts that will attract a specific audience.

The content you choose to publish on your site will determine the type of traffic you will receive, and, ultimately, the fortunes you will achieve. When choosing your content, take your time and be as creative as possible. Never, ever, underestimate the power of creativity.

Step Three: Building A List Of Businesses To Contact

Once you’ve chosen your niche and started attracting potential customers to your site, it’s time to establish a relationship with businesses that meet your niche’s requirements. For the purpose of this guide, we’ll assume you’ve chosen to specialize in a niche that requires you to contact businesses that sell health and beauty products. If this is not the case, you will need to specialize in a niche that requires you to contact businesses that fall within your general marketing niche.

Step Four: Generating Leads

Now that you have a list of potential customers, it’s time to generate leads. Simply put, lead generation is the process of getting potential customers to enter your purchasing decision and, ultimately, make a purchase. Generating leads is one of the primary objectives of your site or blog, and it’s one of the most difficult steps in the online marketing journey. You will need to create value for your list of potential customers, and the best way to do that is through a combination of quality content and lead generation.

Step Five: Converting Leads Into Sales

Once you’ve generated leads, it’s time to convert them into sales. This is where things can get a bit more complex, as you’ll need to choose a bait and switch strategy. Essentially, you’ll want to engage the attention of your list of potential customers with a bait advertisement, which draws them in, then give them what they’re interested in. For example, if you are selling health and beauty products, you can choose to advertise on a blog post that speaks to the interests of the kind of person that visits a health and beauty blog.

Quality content can help to establish trust with potential customers, so if you’re new to making money online, start small and create value for your blog with helpful tips and news articles.

What Next?

Once you’ve mastered the basics, it’s time to take a step back and evaluate where you are. Did you follow the steps in this guide and earn a foothold in the world of online Marketing? Chances are, you did, and now it’s time to bask in the acclamations of penniless fortunes. However, being successful in the world of online Marketing is quite a different matter from being successful in a purely digital world. Being successful in the world of online Marketing requires a deeper rooted commitment to quality and customer acquisition.

If you want to be a successful online Marketer, it’s important to focus on quality rather than quantity, and to specialize in a niche that requires you to engage with consumers who fit within your target audience. Focusing on quality will help you build a reputation for trustworthiness and helpful information, which in turn, will lead to more sales. Ultimately, your success in the world of online Marketing depends on you and your own dedication and lack of wanting to give up.
