Here’s a short list of benefits that you’re eligible for as a student visa holder:
- Free Education
- Study Abroad
- Access to Cultural Experiences
- Travel Opportunities
- Student Loans
- VISA
- Work Permits
- And Lots More!
Let’s take a closer look at each item on that list.
Free Education
One of the biggest perks of being a student is free education! If you’ve ever been to university, you’ll know how expensive it can be to study there. There are plenty of opportunities to study for free or at low cost, such as public libraries, community colleges, and even some high schools. You’ll also be entitled to free university education in the country you study in. So, no matter what stage you’re at in life, there’s plenty of opportunity to study and gain knowledge and skills that will benefit you in the future.
Study Abroad
Another amazing perk of being a student is study abroad! There are plenty of options available to you, whether you want to extend your studies in a foreign country or wish to do your university studies in a different city or town from where you live. If you’re interested in studying abroad, apply for a student visa and take advantage of the many opportunities available. There are plenty of destinations to choose from and with many different courses to suit you.
Access to Cultural Experiences
A perk of being a student is having access to cultural experiences! Whether you decide to partake in undergraduate studies or postgraduate studies, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about different cultures and their ways of doing things. Visiting museums, attending cultural events and even performing arts shows are all opportunities to enjoy and celebrate cultural diversity. In addition to museums, you’ll find lots of theatres, concert halls, and other artistic venues where you can enjoy a show.
Travel Opportunities
A perk of being a student is having travel opportunities! Whether you decide to travel for leisure or for studies, you’ll have the opportunity to travel abroad. So, whether you’re planning to travel within Europe or to other parts of the world, you’ll have access to travel opportunities. Wherever your heart desires, you’ll be able to study and travel abroad.
Student Loans
One of the biggest perks of being a student is having access to student loans! Whether you’re an undergraduate or a postgraduate, you’ll have the opportunity to apply for student loans and even (in some cases) get funding for equipment or travel costs associated with your studies. Student loans are an excellent way to fund your studies, whether you’re in university or college and no matter what stage you’re at in life.
The list of benefits of being a student is endless, from free education to travel opportunities. It’s time for you to explore the many perks that come with being a student.
VISA
Another great perk of being a student is having a visa! As a student, you’re entitled to apply for a visa to stay in the country you study in. The type of visa you need will depend on whether you’re an undergraduate or a postgraduate student and if you’re planning to study full-time or part-time. Find out what kind of visa you need and then apply for it as soon as possible.
As a student, you’ll receive a reference number from the consulate (or embassy, if you’re visiting from overseas). This is something you’ll need to bring with you when you apply for a job, as employers may ask to see your visa status when making your application. It’s also worth keeping in mind that in some cases, you may have to renew your visa every year.
With a visa, the world is your oyster! You can stay in Europe for as long as you like and even work remotely for a few hours each day while still being able to study at night. Just make sure to follow the rules and regulations of where you are so that you don’t have to go home before your visa expires. You can also extend your visa by applying for a work permit (which we’ll cover in a bit).
Work Permits
One of the perks of being a student is being able to work (part-time) while still studying! In some countries, like the United Kingdom, there are no restrictions on studying while also holding down a job. In other countries, like Australia, you’ll have to maintain at least a Bachelors degree or higher to be eligible for a work permit. In addition to that, you’ll need to be able to speak English and have a valid visa to be able to study and work in that country. In some cases, you may need to upgrade your degree to a Masters, if you’re studying for your bachelor’s. It’s worth noting that in most cases, you won’t be able to apply for a work permit until you’re enrolled in at least one class or have started your studies. So, don’t apply for a work permit until you’ve at least begun your studies.
And Lots More!
There are lots of other perks to being a student! In addition to the ones mentioned above, being a student is also awesome because you’re exposed to lots of new things and meet new people. Attending (and even participating in) extra-curricular activities such as sport, music, and art are just a few of the ways in which you can make the most of your university years. You’ll also be able to extend your social circle by joining clubs and societies and making new friends. In most cases, you’ll find that the more activities you participate in, the more you’ll enjoy yourself at university. What are you waiting for? Join the celebration and apply for a student visa today!
