Many of you may know that I am a huge fan of Star Trek. I have loved this show since I was a kid, and since then it has always had a special place in my heart. While I have never actually played the game, I have been a frequent visitor to the site.
If you’re looking to make some extra cash with your free time, you can now do so through a new game called Star Trek Online. The game is free to play, but there are several different ways that you can make money through micropayments, completing quests, and selling collectibles.
The Basics Of Star Trek Online
Star Trek Online is a massively multiplayer game that was officially launched in 2016. Despite the fact that it is a fairly new game, it has already gained a large following. Launching as a free-to-play title, the game allows players to explore the Star Trek universe and engage in multiplayer gaming sessions with friends.
Anyone can download the game, but to create a character and start playing you need to have an active Internet connection and a fairly high speed Internet connection. The game has been designed to function smoothly even when played online, so a fast connection will ensure that you can participate in seamless gameplay.
The Science Of Star Trek
The Science of Star Trek is the second game that I want to discuss. If you’re looking for a more in-depth analysis of the source material, you can check out my in-depth review of The Science of Star Trek, which covers the game’s story, setting, characters, and more. The game is a First Person Shooter (FPS), but you don’t have to be a Star Trek fan to understand or enjoy it.
Star Trek has always had a special place in my heart, and it still does. As I stated before, I have never played the game, but I have closely followed its progress. Now that it finally released, I have had the opportunity to try it out. Even though I know nothing about the source material, I can easily get immersed in the lore of the Star Trek universe.
The Future Of Star Trek
With all of this in mind, let’s take a quick look at the future of Star Trek. Rumors are already spreading about a potential third movie in the series. While I, personally, would love to see a new movie trilogy, that is not what this article is about. What this article is about is the future of Star Trek Online itself. With a huge following and a passionate fanbase, the potential is there for the game to grow even more. The more fans the game can attract, the more opportunities it will have in the future.
Even if we don’t get another movie trilogy, there are still plenty of opportunities for the game. With each new expansion pack that is released, the game will only become more appealing. As I’ve already discussed, the Science of Star Trek didn’t do too well in terms of sales. The game didn’t even make it to release, which is rather unusual for a game that is nearly two years in the making. Despite this, the developers and publishers of the game assured us that they are still committed to releasing more content for the game.
Making Money In Star Trek Online
Now that we’ve covered the basics of Star Trek Online, let’s discuss how you can make some money from the game. There are several different ways that you can earn money in the game, but the two most obvious ones are selling items and completing quests. Let’s take a look at each of these options in detail.
Selling Items
If you’ve ever played one of the popular Massively Multiplayer Online (MMORPG) titles, then you’ll know how money is constantly changing hands as players buy, sell, and trade items with one another. To make money in Star Trek Online, you will initially need to decide what type of items you want to sell. It would be best to start small and work your way up to larger items. As you accumulate more and more items, your profit margins will naturally increase.
For instance, let’s say that you want to be a tailor and want to specialize in making clothes for other players. To start, you can craft simple clothing items (i.e. basic T-shirts, hoodies, etc.) and sell them for profit. As you gain more experience, you can start making and offering more elaborate clothing items. When designing these items, make sure to consider the size, shape, and color of the items that you will be creating. This will help ensure that the proportions of your product match those of the original design. If this is too much of a chore, there are several tailors that you can hire to help you out.
Questing
Another way to earn money in Star Trek Online is by completing various quests. Completing quests will not only grant you experience points, but you will also earn money. As you gain more experience, you will be able to complete more complex quests and make more money. In most cases, you will have to work with a team of other players to complete these quests. For the purposes of this article, we will discuss the Warrior quests. These are the standard non-story based quests that you can undertake to gain experience and make money. You can find these quests in the Missions section of the game. To start, you will need to pick a specialization and class for your character. As before, it would be best to begin with simple tasks and then move on to more complex ones as your experience increases. The Warrior subclass is my personal favorite in the game, as it synergizes well with the game’s crafting system. You will need to learn to control your Barbarian, choosing when to attack and when to defend yourself. As you accumulate experience, you can look for additional ways to make money through game enhancements, additional content, or microtransactions.
As you can see, there are several options for gamers to earn a living in the online world of Star Trek. If you’re looking for an additional source of income, you can start by creating and selling items through a pawn shop. Or, you can explore other options, like delivering packages for other players, finding secret treasure maps, or taking part in daily races. The choice is entirely up to you!
